Walnut Creek's Scout Troop 810 was charted in 1965. The boy lead troop enjoys hiking and camping activities, with some venturing into kayaking, boating and other water activities on occasion. We meet at Bancroft Elementary school on Tuesdays, 3 weeks per month, which allows the patrols to meet independently once a month to plan patrol activities and troop meeting activities.
The Troop also is available to the surrounding communities for service projects. We have been fortunate to participate in a variety of service projects: food drives, setting up music in the park, ice cream socials for retirement communities, feeding the homeless, helping at the Walnut Creek Art and Wine Festival each year, and more.
Our current Scout Master is Kevin Lambert, a former boy scout who has had a long career leading cub scouts and boy scouts. He has one child that has achieved the Rank of Eagle, and a son currently in Troop 810. We are proud to have him as our Scout Master to grow our troop and assist in scout development while living the Scout Oath and Scout Law and serving our community.
Troop 810's Primary Camp is Camp Wolfeboro, which is near Arnold California. We have a number of current and prior scouts that are also Wolfeboro Pioneers and partake in the restoration and camp preparation activities each year. Other camps that Troop 810 enjoys to visit each year are Chawanakee, and High Adventure Camps like Summit, Northern Tier, Philmont, as well as Emerald Bay.
